Hamilton Davis

Hamilton Davis is a native of South Carolina with a BS from Clemson University and a JD from the USC School of Law. He has been working for the SC Coastal Conservation League (CCL) since 2006 and currently serves as their Energy & Climate Director. The CCL Energy & Climate Program promotes the implementation of comprehensive local, state, and federal energy policies related to renewable energy, energy efficiency, and climate change. Hamilton is currently serving on the Energy Advisory Council for the SC Public Utility Review Committee, the SC Offshore Wind Regulatory Task Force, the SC Energy Office Advisory Council, and is a board member of the SC Solar Business Alliance.

Betsy McCorkle

Betsy directs the North Carolina Sustainable Energy Association's governmental affairs work. As a registered lobbyist, she works with legislators, state and local government officials, state agencies, and allied organizations to educate them on clean energy issues to ensure passage of NCSEA's legislative agenda. Previously, Betsy managed the North Carolina Solar Center’s Economic Development Program, delivering client-based services to businesses and organizations engaging in the renewable energy industry in North Carolina. Betsy also managed a political consulting firm, specializing in policy analysis, research, and operation services where her clients included The North Carolina Republican Party, The Pat McCrory Committee, Congressman Austin Scott (GA-8), Congressman Walter Jones (NC-3), and numerous other local, state-wide and federal candidates. Betsy received a Master Degree in Environmental Management from Duke University, and she holds a Bachelor Degree in Environmental Economics from the University of Georgia, where she graduated magna cum laude. Betsy was the 2012 Recipient of the J.W. Fanning Distinguished Young Professional Award, she is a member of the Natural Capital Investment Fund Advisory Committee and the NC Economic Developers Association.

Chelsea Harnish

Chelsea Harnish is the Policy and Campaigns Manager for the Virginia Conservation Network, focusing on energy and climate issues. As the facilitator for the network’s energy working group, Chelsea regularly engages with state agency staff, as well as, industry and utility lobbyists on legislation to promote renewable energy in Virginia. During the 2013 legislative session, Chelsea worked with her members to broker a deal with Dominion Virginia Power and Appalachian Power Company to allow farmers to net meter small wind and solar projects on their property. Building upon her 3 years of experience advocating for the Cape Wind project off Cape Cod, Chelsea has extensive knowledge of the permitting process for offshore wind and stays up to date on state level activity by attending Virginia Offshore Wind Development Authority meetings. During the recent BOEM public comments on Virginia’s Wind Energy Area, Chelsea assisted several national environmental groups frame their comments with a Virginia perspective. Chelsea is a staunch supporter of offshore wind and looks forward to the days when turbines are spinning off Virginia’s coast.
