Mike Bush is currently Director of Generation Planning and Development for Southern Company focused on the development and implementation of Battery, Solar, Wind and Distributed Generation projects for the Retail Electric Operating companies of Southern Company. Mike began his career as a co-op student at Mississippi Power Company. He later worked for the Department of the Navy as well as a Hitachi/GE joint venture before returning to Southern Company in 1990. In his current role, he provides leadership and strategic direction for supply side technology evaluation and integration, asset valuation, asset acquisition, project development and pre-commercial asset management for the retail operating companies of Southern Company. His previous responsibilities included positions as Manager of Energy Trading and Director of Portfolio Management. Mike and his wife Laura have five children and one grandchild. He is a graduate of Auburn University with a degree in electrical engineering.
