Raleigh N.C., - The Southeastern Wind Coalition (SEWC) issued the following statement from SEWC President Katharine Kollins after the U.S. Department of the Interior lifted the stop work order that halted offshore construction for Equinor’s Empire Wind 1 project off the coast of Long Island, NY:
“The reversal of the Empire Wind 1 stop work order is proof that offshore wind is charting a path forward under the Trump Administration. The leadership demonstrated by Governor Hochul (D-NY) and Doreen Harris, President and CEO of NYSERDA, are a testament to the important role that state-level voices can play to ensure the industry continues to deliver thousands of jobs, billions in investments, and benefits to communities across the region for decades to come.”
